Thoughtforms, Tulpas and Egregores

The ideas behind the servitor — Theosophy's thought-forms, Alexandra David-Néel's tulpa, the egregore from the Watchers of Enoch to the group mind, and the Toronto sitters who made up a ghost and heard it knock.

A servitor, in chaos magic, is a made thing: a focus of intention given a shape, a name and a task, used and then dismissed (see Servitors). The practice is modern; the ideas under it are older and come from three directions, and each of them teaches something about what you are doing when you make one.
