Tattva Gazing

The Golden Dawn's five elemental shapes as a practice: gaze at a yellow square, silver crescent, red triangle, blue circle or black egg (or a sub-Tattva set within one), watch the after-image on a blank card, then see the shape with your eyes closed, and record what you saw. Over time the record shows how often the after-image appears and whether it takes the usual colour. Watch the five unfold one from another as the Taittiriya Upanishad tells it, each adding a sense; choose any of the twenty-five sub-Tattvas from a grid and gaze at it; and see on a colour wheel why each after-image comes in the colour it does.
