Tea-Leaf Reading

Brew, sip, swirl and turn over a virtual cup of tea or Turkish coffee, then find the shapes its leaves settle into; mark the shapes in your own cup on a drawing, so where each lies is read for when and where; keep a cup diary of what came true; and learn the 116 traditional symbols, drawn in leaves, with a game to train your eye. A map of the cup lets you drag a shape round it and see how its place changes the reading. Brew in a fortune-telling cup, after the printed cups of the early 1900s, with the zodiac round the side and the planets in the bottom, and read each clump with the sign it lies on. Saw a shape you cannot name? Draw it, watch the leaves settle along your lines, and see which shapes of the book come nearest, whichever way round you drew it.
