A searchable guide to the spirits of the grimoires and the fallen. All 72 spirits of the Goetia, each with its own page: its seal from the 1904 Goetia, for thirty-two its portrait from the Dictionnaire Infernal, its rank, legions, form and office, the planet that rules its rank and the calling window for that rank worked out for your location. Filter them by rank, office, planet or source, sort them by legions, and set two side by side. Then the fallen: Enoch's Watchers and what each taught, Binsfeld's princes of the seven deadly sins, the four kings of the quarters, and the gods of other peoples who were turned into demons. Set Weyer's list of 1577 beside the Goetia's and follow each spirit's line from its old place to its new one; climb down Agrippa's nine orders of the fallen, from the false gods to the tempters, and find their princes again among the sins and the seventy-two; and join each Watcher to what he taught, each prince to his sin and his order. Each spirit is bound by an angel of the Shem ha-Mephorash, one link away in the Angels tool; read the Discernment & Protection lesson before any practical work.
The 72 spirits that legend says King Solomon bound in a brass vessel, from the Goetia — the first book of the Lesser Key of Solomon. Each has a rank, a number of legions under it, a form in which it appears and an office: what it was believed to teach or do. Read the Goetia lesson for the history, and Discernment & Protection before any practical work.
The book itself is on the Grimoire Shelf. Tap an office tag on any spirit to filter by it. Each rank is ruled by a planet, so tap a planet to see its spirits.
All seventy-two round one circle, in the Goetia's order, each coloured by the planet of its rank. A spirit with two ranks carries a second dot.

Weyer’s list beside the Goetia’s
Most of the Goetia’s spirits are already in Johann Weyer’s Pseudomonarchia Daemonum, printed in 1577 as an appendix to his De praestigiis daemonum, “on the tricks of demons” — sixty-nine of them, from a manuscript he called the Liber officiorum spirituum. The Goetia keeps sixty-eight, drops one, adds four, and puts many in a new order. Tap a name on either side to follow its line.
68 in both · 4 in the same place · the furthest moved, Sallos: Weyer’s 65th, the Goetia’s 19th.
Lines that cross mark spirits the Goetia reordered.
Weyer’s order and titles as tabled in Wikipedia’s “Pseudomonarchia Daemonum” (its counts given here as earls, as the Goetia names them); the Goetia’s as in the Mathers–Crowley edition (1904). Where two titles are given, the books differ or the spirit holds both. Manuscripts differ in ranks, legions and spellings.

SPIRITS OUTSIDE THE GRIMOIRES
Angels and jinn in Islam
Two kinds of unseen beings.
Angels (malāʾika) are made of light and do not disobey. The four best known are Jibrīl, Mīkāʾīl, Isrāfīl and ʿAzrāʾīl.
The jinn are made of smokeless fire, may believe or not, and have free will. Iblīs is named in the Quran as one of them.
WHERE IT DIFFERS In the grimoires, spirits that rank as demons were fallen angels. In Islam the jinn are a separate creation.
