The Major Arcana Journey
The 22 trumps as a story of initiation, in three stages of seven.
A popular way to learn the Major Arcana is to read them as a single story: the Fool's journey. The Fool (0) is the traveller; the other twenty-one cards are the people, trials and revelations met along the way, falling naturally into three rows of seven.
Card order: Waite placed Strength at VIII and Justice at XI, following the Golden Dawn. Older Marseille decks reverse them. Both orders are in use.
